Rich Kessel, PhD, is a nationally recognized expert in physician
assessment, education, and behavior modification. As the Senior
Communication Consultant for the Center for Personalized Education for
Physicians, he was responsible for the development and implementation of
the Center’s nationally renowned physician communication assessment and
feedback program; a model which has subsequently been adopted by the
National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Kessel is an Associate
Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the
University of Colorado School of Medicine. He was instrumental in the
implementation of the School’s teaching and assessment programs
utilizing simulated patients and has been recognized for excellence by
the Foundations of Doctoring program.
In addition to courses at
Metro State, Dr. Kessel has taught courses on such wide ranging topics
as social marketing, survey design, risk management, and financial
planning. He championed the University of Denver College of Law's fiscal
responsibility curriculum from conception through its first year.
